NSBA Council of School Attorneys 2011 School Law Seminar: April 7-9, 2011

NOTE: NSBA is holding 15 spots with a discounted student rate.  Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis for law students.

The National School Boards Association’s Council of School Attorneys has launched an effort to increase the number of new lawyers choosing to become school attorneys who represent K-12 public school districts. The Council is a membership group of approximately 3,000 attorneys nationwide (and 37 affiliated state councils) who have public school districts as their clients.  Additional information can be found at http://www.nsba.org/ in the “School Law” section of the site.

On April 7-9, 2011, the Council will hold its annual School Law Seminar at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and would like to invite law students to attend at a greatly discounted rate of $75.00. Non-member registration for this two and one half day event is $810. Over 450 school lawyers from across the country will attend this continuing legal education (CLE) event, and this is an ideal opportunity for you to see constitutional law at work in K-12 public school districts.

The online seminar brochure is available at http://www.nsba.org/cosa2/law/2011/. Students should complete the registration online registration form and select “regular” as the registration type and proceed through the process. Student registrants will be asked to verify their student status and indicate the name of their law school in the organization field. On the page where it asks for credit card information, please enter Law11 in the box marked “special code,” to ensure the students receive the reduced rate of $75. The student registration code will be disabled when we have filled our registration. For additional information about this special registration offer, contact Laura Baird, Legal Services Assistant, at lbaird@nsba.org (703-838-6150).
